NALP 20: National Aspiring Leadership Programme
The National Aspiring Leadership Programme is an innovative new Professional Learning and Development model. We are finding that the cookie-cutter approach [OSFA] to professional development is failing, less and less is it able to meet the diverse professional learning needs of teachers and leaders. Thus, we have pioneered an adaptive and individualised approach aptly named: Personalised Leadership Pathways (PLP) for each delegate. Using an integrated development platform which focuses on the interpersonal and behavioural dynamics associated with a senior leadership position within the education sector.
Delivered over an one-year period (to ensure minimal disruption to a participant’s busy workload), the programme combines rich, multimedia presentations, face-to-face contact, onsite and online hui as well as utilising via an online learning platform. Participants engage in a deep exploration of their own strengths, weaknesses and opportunities as they relate to building and maintaining highly effective teams.
The National Aspiring Leadership Programme equips educational leaders with the insights, skills and confidence to accelerate their own career progression as they simultaneously strengthen the performance of their colleagues and their context.
Regularly engaging in highly interactive learning experiences, participants share their journey with like-minded colleagues across the country. In addition to delivering high impact professional development, the programme sets out to create powerful, lifelong professional networks.
Learnings are related back to the day-to-day realities and challenges of each participant. This process is enhanced through participant-generated discussions and adaptive leadership challenges that unlock existing skills and experience within the group.
